Gunflint Drought Ends As Rain Falls
The rain began to fall near the end of last month, thankfully putting an end to the devastating Ham Lake Fire. Since the first of June 4.25 inches of rain has fallen in the mid Gunflint Trail area, with 2.70 inches falling on June 3 alone. While there has been a lot of rain, what is missing is the bugs. Thus far this spring almost no black flys or mosquitoes- of course no one on the Gunflint is complaining.
